I made these gift bags for my club members. They are made with a card stock base and vellum card stock so the light can shine through.
The base is cut from a piece of 2 x 3 wild wasabi and scored 1/4 ” on all sides. Clip, fold up and glue the sides to form a shallow box. I then cut a piece of 3″ x 8 1/2″ piece of vellum card stock. The reindeer is stamped and embossed in white centering it near the top. Glue the vellum piece to the sides of the wasabi box using a the tear tape. The hearts come home thinlet was centered on a piece of 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ white card stock and glued around the bottom. I used a piece of silver glitter washi tape around the bottom. The handles are 1/2″ × 5 1/2″ and are adhered using a small silver brad.
All of these cards are made with a layer of vellum under the border of white glitter paper snowflakes. The blue one has a layer of pacific point under the vellum and the others are sahara sand.
This card was made with the snowflake sentiments bundle from the new holiday catalog. I used the thick whisper white card stock for the base. The white glitter paper was used for the snowflake border. I found it really made a big difference to cut out all these intricate details from the back side of the paper and to use the precision plate.I makes a world of difference!!! The layering behind the snowflakes is pacific point with a layer of vellum on top. I made the layer under the white embossed layer the same but added a scallop oval of silver foil paper under the two layers popped up with dimensionals.
This card was inspired by Frenchies’ card.
The base of card is cajun craze with a layer of old olive. I made a wash with pool party on shimmer white card stock using the aqua pen. I let that dry compleately before stamping the daisy’s in cajun craze and cherry cobbler. The leaves were done in old oliveand the center of the flower in soft suede. I then lightly misted the stamped images. I used the stitched shapes framelits for the sentiment layered on a cajun craze scallpoed oval. The sentiment is stamped in black archival ink on crumb cake. After everything is dried I embossed with layered leaves. The burlap ribbom was added and the sentiment was popped up using dimensionals.
I am very sad to say the Picture Perfect will be retiring in a month!!! 😣 I saw a gorgeous card made by Brandy Cox and it inspired me to make this card. I loved the background she created with the strips of cardstock behind the focal point and the way the humming bird was cut with the layers on the wing and tail..
My card also has the hummingbird from the Picture Perfect set. Instead of a sentiment I decided to use the flowers from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set. I stamped them in one of the new in colours called tranquil tide. The flowers were then coloured with soft sky bermuda bay and another new in colour called lemon lime twist using a blender pen.
The strips in the background were soft sky cut at 1″ × 5 1/2″ and whisper white cut at 7/8″ × 5 3/8″. The white strips were embossed with the pretty petals embossing folder. The hummingbird was stamped twice .. first in soft sky then bermuda bay and then black archival. The throat and bottom of the wing were stamped in lemon lime twist. I then hand cut one whole hummingbird and part of the tail and the wing from the second hummingbird. I layered them on the top of the bird using dimensionals. The layering ovals framlit dies were used to cut out the scallop oval I used the largest scallop oval for that .. The white stitched oval was the largest oval from the stitched shapes framelit dies..
I am very happy that they reintroduced the watercolor pencils in the Occasions catalog. They coordinate well with some of my favorite colours of cardstock, ink and embellishments. I stamped and coloured on whisper whte cardstock so I used the blender pens to blend the colours. I think the aquapainter would have work a bit better if I had used watercolour paper but it would be a little too wet for this cardstock.
